Introducing Aloe Unique’s range of natural skincare products, now available in South Africa.

Aloe Unique’s skincare products harness the powerful healing and moisture-catching properties of the Aloe Ferox plant, also known as the Cape Aloe. Wild and indigenous, Aloe Ferox is one of nature’s strongest survivors, thriving and blooming for centuries despite the harsh, arid environment.

Known for its incredible regenerative properties, Aloe Ferox has been a vital source of health and healing for centuries.

Why is Aloe Ferox so good for your skin?

  • It is very rich in amino acids, the building blocks of cells, which are essential for healthy skin.
  • It contains Aloin which has fantastic healing properties, acts as an anti-oxidant and is a viral stimulant.
  • Aloe Ferox is proven to penetrate to the deepest layer of skin.
  • Aloe Ferox is not cultivated like Aloe Vera and so it contains no pesticides or chemicals.

Healing qualities:
For over a thousand years tribal healers have used the Aloe Ferox plant in its unrefined form to treat ailments and to improve the skin’s healing process.

The indigenous people of South Africa have used Aloe Ferox for generations as a detoxifier and to ease the symptoms of gout, rheumatism, arthritis and digestive complaints. Externally it was applied to wounds to encourage healing, and to this day it is well-known for its healing capabilities.

Indigenous and uncultivated:
Aloe Ferox is a member of the Asphodelaceae family which grows wild in South Africa. As the plant is neither commercially cultivated nor chemically treated, it is totally free of pesticides, fertilizers and fungicides.

The plants are not cultivated, but are allowed to thrive wild in their natural habitat in the area of Albertinia, Western Cape, known as ‘the home of the Aloe’. By insisting on sustainable harvesting methods we preserve the plant’s natural occurrence, both in the present and for future generations.

The raw ingredients of Aloe Ferox are gathered by harvesting the plants in an ancient and ecologically-friendly manner. For over 200 years, Aloe Ferox has been harvested without killing or hurting the plant, and nothing has changed. Only the lower leaves are used, which promotes the growth of new leaves at the top of the plant. The lower leaves are then used to extract the potent bitter sap which is the raw material from which Aloe Unique’s products are made.

Creating jobs:
The traditional harvesting and processing methods create jobs for both unskilled and highly skilled workers. By insisting on the highest ethical standards we have created a sustainable industry that employs workers from the local community to harvest Aloe Ferox plants using the ancient harvesting methods.
